LEARN ENGLISH WITH A NATIVE ENGLISH TEACHER FROM CANADA! Hi, my name is Chris MacLuckie. I am a teacher, traveller and author, now living in Mexico. I speak English, Spanish and French. I offer personalized TEFL Certified English lessons. My specialty in teaching is keeping you interested so that you CONTINUE having fun while learning.
I went to drop off my saddle bags with my friend Otto at SABESA…He’s a farrier, trimmer, leather worker and saddle maker. He made these saddle bags for me but now we are going to get some new logos put into the leather.
We’ve been doing some short intense rides and we’ve improved her diet since February. We had some poor feed in January and February, but we got a better source of hay in March. We also started adding soy into the Omelina 300 feed. The changes have made a great difference.
All of us make sacrifices for the lives we choose to live. My long ride from Canada to Guatemala has been chapter after chapter of sacrifices. Sacrifices I willingly made so I could reap the rewards…
I have read articles from horse vet experts saying a horse should be introduced to new feed slowly. I also have read books where cavalry men and horse adventurers described all the different things your horse could eat while on the road, and how to do it so as not to hurt the horse.
Taking off in the morning is sweet. The road ahead beckons. You know you and your horse can do it….Once you’re on the road the day is wide open. I usually started by walking beside Roxy. I’d walk to loosen up the beast, and see how she was moving.
I spent the 5 and a half years before our trip living in areas with really poor cell reception, or none at all. Rural Canada is notoriously bad for service.
I bought my first horse in the summer of 2014, for the trip I just finished last September. I bought Roxy a little over 4 years ago to accompany Jingles.
