Taking off in the morning is sweet. The road ahead beckons. You know you and your horse can do it….Once you’re on the road the day is wide open. I usually started by walking beside Roxy. I’d walk to loosen up the beast, and see how she was moving.
I spent the 5 and a half years before our trip living in areas with really poor cell reception, or none at all. Rural Canada is notoriously bad for service.
I bought my first horse in the summer of 2014, for the trip I just finished last September. I bought Roxy a little over 4 years ago to accompany Jingles.

Zaragoza is known as the little Spain of Guatemala. The streets are laid out in grid formation like nearby Antigua. The Catholic Church is massive and beautiful.
In a nutshell, it was pretty awesome… More than anything, I learned what a truly extraordinary horse will do for you, and that extraordinary horses are the stuff of legends.
